Weeeee! So, I have just ticked off another one from my bucket list. Hooray! Hooray!
I dreamt of visiting Sagada for a long time or should I say, when I started having this interest on watching travel shows. I found everything so amazing that since then, I included Sagada in my Dream Destinations.
How To Get There:
Sagada in Mountain Province is 275 kilometers north of Manila. It can only be reached via Baguio or Banaue. Via Baguio - From Manila, take Victory Liner. Ideal trip would be 10:00 PM so you will reach Baguio around 5AM. From Victory Liner Baguio, ride a cab to Dangwa Terminal (less than 10 mins travel time). GL Liner has 4 daily trips to Sagada (Fare Php220); you may take the first trip which is scheduled every 6AM. The bus ride to Sagada is approximately around 6 hours with 3 stop overs.
Where To Stay in Sagada:

What To Do/Where To Go in Sagada:
Sagada has been a long-time Dream Destination for me so expect that I had done a lot of research and planning. I even downloaded a couple of Sagada maps which were my bases in creating my own Sagada Itinerary.
To my surprise, when I got off the bus, it was like everything on the map was in front of me. Those famous Sagada restaurants and a handful of best spots that I thought were too far can be seen immediately from the bus drop-off point. That's how small Sagada is.
To be honest, I got stuck for about 2 minutes from where I was standing; doing nothing at all but watching Sagada for the first time. It seemed that I was watching a live travel show - people were busy and laid back at the same time, well, I cannot describe it exactly. All I know was, at that very exact moment, I uttered, "Grabe! Ang liit lang pala ng Sagada!"
Realizing how small the town is made me more excited. I thought to myself, "What's with Sagada? It's just a small town but it's very popular in travel shows and even in travel magazines.

Tour Sagada (Sagada Weaving, St. Mary's Church, Souvenir Shops, Make a reservation at Log Cabin for Saturday Night Buffet) - how much for this?
ReplyDeleteI am planning to travel to Sagada by May.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is just one of the most complete and concise guide. I can easily digest all the info at one reading. galing! What struck about this post is when you said that Sagada is just a small town that you can easily roam the place... and that's what I really want in a place especially if you're traveling solo. :)
Thanks for the info Mich. Have a great day!
Is it cheaper if I won't get a package? (solo traveler here) http://gktravels.weebly.com
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I missed it but I was also looking for your budget the whole trip from transportation to hotel and the "eats". Also, there is no write up on the other route (Banaue) which is the route I am planning to take.
Hi how much will be the bidget for this trip
ReplyDeleteHi how much will be the bidget for this trip

DeleteHi!the estimated budget of 4,500 is for 5 days and it includes fare. Correct?

ReplyDeletePunta ka a day before dun sa Sagada Municipal Hall
DeleteThis is such a helpful blog. I've been in Sagada for a few times and honestly it is hard to do a DIY in Sagada. First its expensive , destinations are very far and costly. I'd rather suggest getting a package or join a tour so you can make sure you'll get to visit everything at a shared cost. Just make sure you pick the agency with good ratings. I've tried HideOut Travel and Tours twice and they seem great on foods, tour and the itinerary is flexible. You can check on them if you want. I believe the number is 0916-6125934 or hideouttravelandtours.com.
ReplyDeleteCan you customize the tours when bought at the municipal hall? And do they have evening trips from sagada to Baguio? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for naming the accomodation. I just looked up George Guest House and it looks wonderful !!!! Do they offer meals there?
ReplyDeleteYes, they do offer meals in the main George Guest House.
Deletewhere do we go if we want to go camping in sagada?
ReplyDeleteAre roads in Sagada all concrete? Planning to bring own transportation kasi. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi. Is there a van in sagada that will tour us in sagada and banaue? And how much is that? Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi, we are planning (2pax) to visit Sagada on February via Tuguegarao on weekdays. Do you have any idea if there are daily trips (Public Transpo) from Tuguegarao to Sagada? What are the trip timings to and fro and also the fare... if any? Thanks
